The American Educational Association of La Paz, Bolivia, is a private, coeducational school, which offers an educational program from KGI through grade 12 for students of all nationalities. The school was founded in 1955. The school year comprises two semesters extending from August 8 to December 16 and from January 9 to May 25.

Organization
The school is governed by a ten-member Board of Directors elected for 2-year terms by the members of the Association. Membership in the Association is automatically conferred on the parents or guardians of children enrolled in the school. The school is incorporated in the U.S. and is tax-exempt in the U.S. It is officially recognized by the Bolivian Government.

Curriculum
The curriculum is that of U.S. general academic, college preparatory public schools. The school testing program includes the College Entrance Examination Board tests. Instruction is in English. Spanish and French are taught as foreign languages. Art, music appreciation, and computer courses are offered. There is no religious instruction. Most of the graduates go on to colleges and universities in the United States. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Faculty
There were 43 full and part time faculty members in the 2011-2012 school year, including North Americans, Bolivians and people of other nationalities. The school employs one guidance counselor, a full-time registered nurse and 10 teaching asssistants.

Enrollment
Enrollment at the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year was 384 students in KG3 - 12th grades

Facilities
The school is located on the outskirts of the city. The buildings include an auditorium, theater, gymnasium, library, classrooms, tennis courts, racquetball courts, and indoor heated swimming pool.

Finances
About 98 percent of the school's income was derived from regular day school tuition.
